5 Times When The Academy Awards Faced The Unexpected!

Posted  February 21, 2017  by  Lee Skavydis

This year’s Oscar ceremony is almost upon when it takes place this coming Sunday on February 26th. It may be fair to say that the nominees, especially for categories such as Best Picture, are hardly appetizing but it will be interesting to see what else they can conjure to make the show an event to remember alongside Jimmy Kimmel, who will be host. It will be the 89th show since it’s birth in 1929.

’50 Shades Darker’ Review

Posted  February 14, 2017  by  William Coffey

It’s not a popular opinion to have, but I’ll say it: I “liked” ‘Fifty Shades of Grey’. Not as in a genuine enjoyment or giving it a place in any cinematic “best of” list, but as a guilty pleasure with more emphasis on the “pleasure.” But it’s been two years since ‘Fifty Shades of Grey’ and the second film – ‘Fifty Shades Darker’ – has arrived to leave its own mark on the romance genre, the kinky erotica sub-genre and many a couple’s Valentine’s Day tonight. Unfortunately the sequel puts more of an emphasis on the “guilty” part of “guilty pleasure” and is best saved for its inevitable journey to a discount theater near you around St. Patrick’s Day.

Many remember the famous corkscrew jump sequence in the James Bond movie The Man With The Golden Gun. Or what about the coach jumping over the major bridge gap in the Keanu Reeves 1994 flick, Speed.
