Sony has released a new trailer for their long-awaited Venom standalone movie. After not appearing in costume in the first trailer, we finally see Tom Hardy fully suited up. To to be honest – the movie looks pretty great. It’s dark yet still has flashes of comedy that seem to fit the tone of the film.
The film is directed by Ruben Fleischer, and stars Hardy as the titular anti-hero, with a script by Scott Rosenberg & Jeff Pinkner and Kelly Marcel and Will Beal. Fleisher is best known for 2009’s Zombieland, a film which perfectly balanced two genres.
The new trailer:
[su_youtube url=”https://youtu.be/u9Mv98Gr5pY”]After rather lackluster initial trailer, I’m starting to become excited for the movie. The film seems like it’s more put together in this trailer. It’s likely when they released the initial trailer, they had few of the effects polished. Most likely to start generating some buzz amongst a busy super hero slate.
There are rumors that Tom Holland could show up as Spider-Man, both those reports are appear to unsubstantiated. Nonetheless, we here at Age of the Nerd are looking forward to October.
Here’s the official synopsis:
One of Marvel’s most enigmatic, complex and badass characters comes to the big screen, starring Academy Award® nominated actor Tom Hardy as the lethal protector Venom.
Michelle Williams, Riz Ahmed, Scott Haze, and Reid Scott co-star with Hardy. The film opens October 9, 2018
