‘Avengers: Infinity War’ Gem-Themed Posters Unite the MCU

Marvel has released a batch of new Avengers: Infinity War posters for all of of us to ogle over. Even though we’ve started to learn more and more about the film in the past few weeks, the marketing machine has officially gone into full swing with the release of these new group character posters, considering that the film is mere weeks away from being completed.

The posters themselves are color-coded to match each of the five of the six Infinity Stones that have been revealed in the MCU thus far, giving potential hints at which of our heroes could take more prominence in the film. That said, these posters are pretty bland overall. For the most part, Marvel & Disney have had a checkered history with making decent posters for their films so this isn’t surprising, but–Really? A bunch of photoshopped heads with what amounts to a black background? Say what you will about the film itself, but for a “Culmination Event” these posters just seem lazy.

Avengers: Infinity War stars Robert Downey Jr., Chris Evans, Chris Hemsworth, Mark Ruffalo, Scarlett Johansson, Jeremy Renner, Elizabeth Olsen, Paul Bettany, Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Dave Bautista, Bradley Cooper, Vin Diesel, Pom Klementieff, Karen Gillan, Sean Gunn, Benedict Cumberbatch, Tom Holland, Sebastian Stan, Chadwick Boseman, Benedict Wong, Tom Hiddleston, Benicio Del Toro, Danai Gurira and Josh Brolin. The film recently pushed up it’s release date, and now hits theaters on April 27, 2018. Here’s the official synopsis, along with the new character posters below:

As the Avengers and their allies have continued to protect the world from threats too large for any one hero to handle, a new danger has emerged from the cosmic shadows: Thanos. A despot of intergalactic infamy, his goal is to collect all six Infinity Stones, artifacts of unimaginable power, and use them to inflict his twisted will on all of reality. Everything the Avengers have fought for has led up to this moment – the fate of Earth and existence itself has never been more uncertain.
