Disney Moves Up ‘Infinity War’ in New Film Slate

In a surprising move, Disney has announced that Avengers: Infinity War will be released a full week earlier than its original release date May 4. The highly-anticipated film will now hit theaters April 27, 2018.  The move was announced earlier today with the announcement of new release dates for some more upcoming Disney films including some untitled Marvel films.

One of the untitled films have been moved from August 7, 2020 to July 31, 2020. The rest of the announced dates are May 7, 2021, July 30, 2021, November 5, 2021, February 18, 2022, May 6, 2022, and July 29, 2022.

One film being pushed back is the upcoming live-action film, Mulan. Mulan has been pushed from Nov. 2, 2018 to March 7, 2020. A pretty drastic move.

There’s no word on why the dates have been changed. Part of it could be that Disney wants to stay red-hot with the recent success of Black Panther. Or these changes can be a move made that has to do with the Disney/Fox buyout that has been discussed for sometime now, which has not been set in stone. But these are just speculation for now.
