Box office and former WWE superstar The Rock’s newest flick Rampage has topped the weekend box office – winning over last weeks champ A Quiet Place. Rampage earned An estimated $34.5 million domestically and $114 million internationally for a worldwide total of $148 million.
With his continued box office success, The Rock continues to show why he’s one of – if not the biggest movie stars in the world.
A Quiet Place opened second, and almost pulled off the upset. The John Krasinski directed film followed up its massive $50 million opening with a $32.6 million second frame. After two weeks since its release the film has earned $151 million worldwide.
Newcomer Truth or Dare opened third, with a solid $19 minion. The Blumhouse produced horror flick had a reported budget of only $3.5 million so the studio has another hit on their hands.
Ready Player One and Blockers round out the top five with $11.2 and $10.2 million respectively.
