Eli Roth’s ‘The Green Inferno’ Gets a New Release Date.

Fans of known horror director Eli Roth can finally rejoice in knowing the directors most recent project, ‘The Green Inferno’ will finally hit the big screen this fall.

…Despite all the controversy surrounding the film’s release.

‘The Green Inferno’ was set to be released last year around September but unfortunately was pushed back, but now The Green Inferno will have its release on Sept.25 of this year.

Originally owned by Open Road the film soon was handed over to Blumhouse who is working actively with Universal and Focus Features to get the film a wide release.

‘The Green Inferno’ is about a group of student activists traveling to the Amazon to save the rain forest. They soon discover they are not alone after crash-landing on a remote location and then are held hostage by the natives that they had set out to save.

The film was produced and financed by Worldview Entertainment and had a showing in the Midnight Madness section at the Toronto Film Festival. Roth co-wrote the screenplay from his original idea with “Aftershock” co-writer Guillermo Amoedo.
