‘American Ultra’ Red Band Trailer

Director Nima Nourizadeh who brought you Project X is back in the directors chair for ‘American Ultra’, starring Jesse Eisenberg (Zombieland) and Kristen Stewart (Twilight). This fast-paced action comedy about Mike (Eisenberg), a seemingly hapless and unmotivated stoner whose small-town life with his live-in girlfriend, Phoebe (Stewart), is suddenly turned upside down. Unbeknownst to him, Mike is actually a highly trained, lethal sleeper agent. In the blink of an eye, his secret past comes back to haunt him, as Mike is thrust into the middle of a deadly government operation and is forced to summon his inner action-hero in order to survive. Based on the trailer, ‘American Ultra’  seems to be as fun and over the top as Project X but put together a lot better, with a solid soundtrack and polished action scenes. Not to mention a much more talented group of actors. You can’t really go wrong with Topher Grace and John Leguizamo playing silly characters in anything. Actually ‘American Ultra’ has some fairly well known names with Connie Britton, Bill Pullman and Walton Goggins stepping on board this zany stoner comedy.

All in all ‘American Ultra’ looks like a great summer popcorn flick with enough action and comedy to keep your attention and for the first time Kristen Stweart seems to be displaying some actual acting skills. I would personally put this down as a much watch for a solid summer experience.
