Kate Winslet has been cast in James Cameron's upcoming 'Avatar' sequels. It's been 8 years since the original 'Avatar' was released in theaters, but the production on the anticipated sequels has been revving up it's engines for some time.

It's been nearly eight years since 'Avatar' was released, but the road up to production on the 'Avatar' sequels has been long and difficult. After years of production delays and an extended pre-production period to develop underwater Motion Capture technology, Director James Cameron's multi-film opus has finally entered production.

It is hard to believe that twenty years have nearly gone by since the release of James Cameron's Titanic. The director already became famous by directing established low and high budget action films such as The Terminator and True Lies. But the Canadian had a keen interest in the famous oceanic tragedy that occurred in 1912 a couple of years before the creation process of the big blockbuster movie that cost in the region of $200,000,000 to develop.

Hollywood is known for it's happy endings. In fact, it has become a little too predictable, one would say. It is a refreshing experience when filmmakers attempt to take a turn away from the usual route during the course of a movie and give audiences something unexpected to remember it by.

It is believed by the author of this article that half of the issue is that T3 had to live in the shadow of it's far superior predecessor, Terminator 2: Judgment Day. No matter how good T3 was ever going to be, it would probably have always shipped some harsh criticism simply because that's what happens when trying to create a sequel to an Academy Award-winning phenomenon

No matter how serious the subject matter of the film might be, It never really forgets why it is being made in the first place: to entertain. All of the more Meta aspects aside, the overall thoughtfulness and attention to detail is what ultimately makes T2 rise above your typical, forgettable summer faire.
