‘Captain Marvel’ Crosses $1 Billion Worldwide

Captain Marvel crossed the $1 billion mark globally, becoming the seventh release from Marvel Studios to reach this milestone. The film has earned $358 million domestically and $645 million internationally through April 2nd, 2019.

In its opening weekend (March 8–10th), Captain Marvel had the biggest domestic debut of 2019, with $153 million in the U.S., and its $455 million global total marked the second biggest worldwide debut for a superhero film, behind only Avengers: Infinity War.

To date, the 21 films of the Marvel Cinematic Universe have collectively earned more than $18.5 billion in global box office, averaging more than $880 million per film. Captain Marvel will appear next in Marvel Studios’ Avengers: Endgame, opening April 26th.
