Disney, Fox Plan More Alien, Apes, and Kingsman Flicks

Aliens and Apes and Kingsman, oh my. Now that the mega-merger between the Walt Disney Company and 20th Century Fox is a done deal, the entertainment juggernaunt has unveiled some future plans for some of Fox’s biggest franchises. At CinemaCon in Las Vegas this week, Disney executives announced that new films will be produced for the AlienPlanet of the Apes, and Kingsman series.

Matthew Vaughn is already shooting Kingsman: The Great Game. It is the third film in the series and serves as a prequel to the first two. Vaughn wrote, directed, and produced the first two Kingsman movies. The Great Game is slated for release on February 14, 2020.

The Disney-Fox merger deal was officially sealed on Wednesday for $71.3 billion at 12:02 EST. The merger with Fox gives Disney more for its arenal when it launches its own steaming service Disney+ later this year. With the move, Disney has also acquired Fox’s thirty percent ownership of Hulu. In addition to Disney’s own thirty percent, they now have a 60% majority ownership of Hulu.
