Disney Reveals Season Two Release Date For ‘The Mandalorian’

Riding high on the huge success of season one of the hit Disney + series “The Mandalorian” the streaming platform has now revealed that the release date for season two will be October 20, 2020.

“The Mandalorian” marks the first live-action series based upon the “Star Wars” universe and of course gave us our beloved Baby Yoda aka “The Child” character.

The company has clearly chosen the date carefully: Jon Favreau’s series will be released after The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, expected in August 2020, and before WandaVision, scheduled for December 2020, two event series derived from Marvel’s Avengers universe.

Disney CEO Bob Iger also revealed that it could be possible to see spin-off series launched from “The Mandalorian” and it is possible “The Mandalorian” itself could last for more than just two seasons. Disney is looking at “infusing it with more characters and taking those characters in their own direction in terms of series”, according to the CEO. The Mandalorian has shown that the Star Wars franchise has the potential to be popular on the small screen, as it is flexible, creative and hugely profitable.
