Top Gun: Maverick Official Trailer

First up, we have the official debut trailer for Top Gun: Maverick. The film, which is a sequel to hit the 1986 film, features the actor’s long-awaited return to his career-defining role. Although this teaser trailer doesn’t give much of the plot away, it’s an effective primer for those who might not have seen the original.

Paramount Pictures, Skydance, and Jerry Bruckheimer Films are producing Top Gun: Maverick. In addition to Cruise, the film stars Miles Teller, Jennifer Connelly, Jon Hamm, Glen Powell, and Lewis Pullman and Ed Harris. Top Gun: Maverick launches into theaters on June 26, 2020.

Terminator: Dark Fate San Diego Comic-Con 2019 Featurette

Although we didn’t get a new trailer for Terminator: Dark Fate as SDCC 2019, fans were treated to a new featurette that focuses on the return to the roots of the franchise. The featurette takes an inside look at the making of the film, which includes appearances by visionary filmmaker James Cameron, Tim Miller, Arnold Schwarzenegger, and Linda Hamilton.

Hamilton (“Sarah Connor”) and Schwarzenegger (“T-800”) return in their iconic roles in Terminator: Dark Fate. The film is directed by Tim Miller (Deadpool) and produced by Cameron and David Ellison. Following the events of Terminator 2: Judgment Day, The film also stars Mackenzie Davis, Natalia Reyes, Gabriel Luna, and Diego Boneta. Terminator: Dark Fate arrives in theatres on November 1, 2019.

IT: Chapter Two Final Trailer

IT: Chapter Two is director Andy Muschietti’s follow-up to 2017’s critically acclaimed and massive global box office hit IT. The first film grossed more than $700 million worldwide, while also becoming part of the cultural zeitgeist. The follow-up is looking to surpass the first in terms of stakes, while also adding a few new elements that weren’t in Stephen King‘s source material.

IT: Chapter 2 stars James McAvoy, Jessica Chastain, Bill Hader, Isaiah Mustafa, Jay Ryan, James Ransone, and Andy Bean. Reprising their roles as the original members of the Losers Club are Jaeden Martell, Wyatt Oleff, Jack Dylan Grazer, Finn Wolfhard, Sophia Lillis, Chosen Jacobs, and Jeremy Ray Taylor. In addition, Bill Skarsgård returns in the seminal role of Pennywise. Below, you can find the official synopsis for IT: Chapter 2, along with our write-up of the film’s SDCC 2019 presentation HERE.

Evil resurfaces in Derry as director Andy Muschietti reunites the Losers Club in a return to where it all began with “IT Chapter Two,” the conclusion to the highest-grossing horror film of all time. Twenty-seven years after the Losers Club defeated Pennywise, he has returned to terrorize the town of Derry once more. Now adults, the Losers have long since gone their separate ways. However, kids are disappearing again, so Mike, the only one of the group to remain in their hometown, calls the others home. Damaged by the experiences of their past, they must each conquer their deepest fears to destroy Pennywise once and for all…putting them directly in the path of the clown that has become deadlier than ever.

Jay and Silent Bob Reboot Comic-Con 2019 Trailer

The stoner icons who first hit the screen 25 years ago in CLERKS are back in the Jay and Silent Bob Reboot! When Jay and Silent Bob discover that Hollywood is rebooting an old movie based on them, the clueless duo embark on another cross-country mission to stop it all over again!

21 Bridges

Revealed during the panel celebrating the work of the Russo brothers at Comic-Con 2019, this trailer for 21 Bridges further reveals the crime-thriller. The film follows an expertly trained NYPD detective played by Chadwick Boseman puts all of New York City on lockdown in order for him and the other authorities to defeat a gang of cop killers.

In addition to Boseman, the film stars Sienna Miller, Taylor Kitsch J.K. Simmons, Christian Isaiah, and Keith David, among others. 21 Bridges is directed by Brian Kirk and is produced by Boseman, Joe & Anthony Russo, Logan Coles, and Gigi Pritzker. The film hits theaters on September 27, 2019. Here’s the synopsis:

21 BRIDGES follows an embattled NYPD detective (Chadwick Boseman), who is thrust into a citywide manhunt for a pair of cop killers after uncovering a massive and unexpected conspiracy. As the night unfolds, lines become blurred on who he is pursuing, and who is in pursuit of him. When the search intensifies, extreme measures are taken to prevent the killers from escaping Manhattan as the authorities close all 21 BRIDGES to prevent any entry or exit from the iconic island. In Theaters September

Cats

Finally, we have the trailer for the abomination known as Cats. Although this trailer really has nothing to do with Comic-Con 2019 itself, the fact that it dropped the weekend of SDCC makes it noteworthy in all the wrong ways. Based on the popular and long-running stage play, the film adaptation of Cats is a true sight to behold — but not in a good way. The live-action adaptation, which immediately becomes off-putting, just feels wrong on every level.

Despite this, Cats managed to attract the acting talents of James Corden, Judi Dench, Idris Elba, Jennifer Hudson, Ian McKellen, Taylor Swift, Rebel Wilson, Franchesca Hayward, and Jason Derulo. Directed by Tom Hooper, the adaptation is scheduled for a prime December 20, 2019 release.
