Pop! Pop! Ep. 41 – Comic-Con 2019 Recap!

We know, we know, we know… We didn’t post an episode every night of the con. But, we have a good reason why, and it’s in this super-sized Comic-Con 2019 recap episode!  If you’ve never been to Comic-Con, there’s just SO much going on: offsite events, panels, more panels, so much shopping to do, FREE swag and did we mention panels!?  In this episode, we break down every single thing we saw (and some we didn’t) at San Diego Comic-Con 2019!

Comic-Con 2019 Trailers!

Before we get into the nitty-gritty of what we DID see at the con this year, we break down all the trailers that were released that we watched after the fact. Snowpiercer is back with a new television reboot with Daveed Diggs as the lead and, damn, does it look great! IT: Chapter 2 is here to make us do two things: drool over Jessica Chastain and pee the bed out of fear. Spoilers: it does both.  Kevin Smith brings us the first trailer for his Jay & Silent Bob reboot called… Jay & Silent Bob Rebootlook, the cast is STACKED and it made us laugh so we’re intrigued.  Finally, Rick & Morty released a short clip and it has Taika Watiti in it, enough said. Once we get into talking about the convention itself we defer to Taylor, the offsite guru, and he breaks down all the cool installations he saw over the weekend. Including Activations for Amazon Prime Video, FX, Adult Swim, The Orville, Pennyworth, Watchmen, Shazam!, Detective Pikachu, and many more!

Comic-Con 2019 Panels!

I think we mentioned panels earlier, so Joel and Lauren give us the lowdown on all the awesome (and not awesome) panels they saw in Hall H.  Fear The Walking Dead and the regular Walking Dead returned to Hall H as usual but this time without their fearless leader Rick Grimes to show their yearly trailers for what’s to come.  We speed through seeing the panels for PicardWestworld III, and Game of Thrones to talk about what really mattered in Hall H this year: Marvel Studios.

Marvel finally returned to the hallowed ground of Hall H to bring us the newest edition to the MCU: Phase Four.  Kevin Feige is the master of giving us a show, and this year was no different.  We won’t spoil too much for you here because it’s JUICY, but they announce some awesome new projects and touch base with some sequels we’ve all been excited for. We’ll give you a little teaser: can you say Multiverse!?

All of this (and soooooo much more) on this week’s Comic-Con 2019 Recap episode of Pop! Pop! the Pop Culture Podcast! What are your thoughts on all of the news out of Comic-Con 2019? Make sure to let us know in the comment section below!
