20th Century Fox has released a bloody new trailer for ‘The Predator‘, the latest installment in the Predator Franchise. Directed by Shane Black, the film picks up when Jacob Tremblay’s character discovers a piece of Predator technology that causes the fearsome race to come to earth. At this point, it’s up to a ragtag crew of soldiers to deal with the alien menace and naturally, chaos ensues.
Despite having a slight misfire with ‘Iron Man 3‘, I’m confident that Black will do the Predator franchise justice. As the writer of the original film, there’s a certain sense of continuity that the helmer seems to be attempting to establish with this film while at the same time treading anew path. I’m supremely excited about the prospect of the “super predator” in this trailer, and it implies a certain sense of the unknown moving forward with the franchise. If there’s one gripe that I have with this trailer, it’s that i’m not sure who the protagonist of this film actually is. Sterling K. Brown’s character is painted as the central protagonsit of the trailer, so itll be interesting so how the ensemble cast ultimately fits in.
Written by Fred Dekker and Shane Black, the ‘The Predator‘ stars Trevante Rhodes, Keegan-Michael Key, Olivia Munn, Sterling K. Brown, Alfie Allen, Thomas Jane, Augusto Aguilera, Jake Busey, and Yvonne Strahovski, The Predator opens September 14th.

Now, the universe’s most lethal hunters are stronger, smarter and deadlier than ever before, having genetically upgraded themselves with DNA from other species. When a young boy accidentally triggers their return to Earth, only a ragtag crew of ex-soldiers and a disgruntled science teacher can prevent the end of the human race.
