Netflix Teams With Penguin Random House To Release ‘Stranger Things’ Books

I was super excited to read that Netflix has teamed with Penguin Random House to release books based on the smash hit show Stranger Things. The first two books are set to be released this fall. The two books will be a behind-the-scenes book and a hardcover gift for younger readers.

The behind-the-scenes book will be titled, “Stranger Things: World Turned Upside Down: The Official Behind-The Scenes Companion”. The yet-untitled gift book will offer “advice, wisdom, and warnings from the Stranger Things world,” says the publisher.

Next spring fans will get a treat when the Stranger Things universe gets expanded with a prequel book that will about Eleven’s mother and the MKUltra program. The book will be written by Gwenda Bond (Girl On a Wire). Other titles for the Stranger Things books will be announced in 2019.

Releasing the books will hopefully tide fans over until the shows’ slated return sometime in 2019, which are said to be released around the same time. The Stranger Things books will initially release under the U.S. and British Commonwealth publishing teams of Del Rey Books, Random House Children’s Books, Cornerstone Publishing, and Penguin Random House Children’s UK, with additional territories and imprints to follow.
