Donald Glover is having one heck of a year. The Atlanta and Solo: A Star Wars Story star looks as if he ready to take over the world of Hollywood. It has been rumored that Donald Glover is in talks to have a role in the upcoming Black Panther sequel. A release date for the Black Panther sequel has not been announced.
Atlanta season 2 just aired its season finale a few weeks back, and it was during season 2 it occurred to me of a dream pairing. Donald Glover is an amazing writer with a lot to say. Just look up his alter ego Childish Gambino and the video “This Is America”, as of this writing has 176 million views on YouYube. The video is a statement to the current mindset of what is happening across America.
I love the horror genre, and I believe that if Donald Glover and Jordan Peele were to team up, they would create a story that would be both compelling and have a lot of people talking. Peele wrote and directed Get Out which was made on a small budget of $ 4.5 million dollars and had a worldwide gross of $255 million.
Jordan Peele and Donald Glover have there finger on the vein of the social injustices that are haunting this country, and they create there characters to talk about everything from racism to teenage suicide. Donald Glover even gave an ode to Get Out in the haunting Atlanta episode “Teddy Perkins” in which Glover played the character Teddy Perkins under heavy make-up. Jordan Peele’s next project a horror thriller titled US which he will write and direct, and will star Lupita Nyong’o, Elizabeth Moss, and Winston Duke. The film will be produced by Blumhouse Productions, Monkeypaw Productions, and QC Productions. The movie is set to be released March 15, 2019.
Hopefully Jordan Peele and Donald Glover sit down one day and make a film together, because I will be there to check it out.
