‘Solo’ Clips, TV Spots & Featurettes Tout New Footage; Behind the Scenes Glimpses

Disney has released a boatload of new Clips, TV Spots & Featurettes to promote the release of ‘Solo: A Star Wars Story‘ later this week. After all of the behind the scenes shenanigans from the making of the film, the marketing campaign hit a slump when Disney was accused of plagarizing poster designs for the film, prompting a new set of character posters to be released. Since then it’s been smooth sailing for the film, with a successful premiere last week and decent word of mouth.

Indeed, it seems that Disney has found the right way to market the film with all of these promotional materials by focusing on the character interactions and amping up the “Fun” factor that the film seems to have. By all accounts, star Alden Ehrenreich does a serviceable job of inhabiting everyone’s favorite intergalactic smuggler, but the real highlight of the film seems to be Donald Glover as Lando. There are also some great moments with Chewbacca, but overall Glover seems to steal the show with his spot-on imitation of the great Billy Dee Williams.

The film was directed by Ron Howard and is set to hit theaters in a few days on May 25, 2018. In addition to Ehrenreich and Glover, the film also features Emilia Clarke, Woody Harrelson, Paul Bettany, Phoebe Waller-Bridge, and Joonas Suotamo.
