Based on Patrick Dewitt’s acclaimed novel of the same name, follows two brothers – Eli and Charlie Sisters – who are hired to kill a prospector who has stolen from their boss. The story, a genre-hybrid with comedic elements, takes place in Oregon in 1851. The film is Jacques Audiard’s follow-up to his Palme D’Or Winning DHEEPAN, which premiered at the 2015 Cannes Film Festival.

I’m a big fan of westerns, Joaquin Phoenix and John C. Rielly (Step , throw in two more great actors in Jake Gyllenhaal (who was just announced to star in the upcoming Spider-Man sequel) and Riz Amhed (Rogue One: A Star Wars Story) and I see everything that I want in a western film; Comedy, action and what looks like a great story, all things the genre needs more of these days.

The Sisters Brothers hits theaters this Fall from Annapurna Pictures. The film is directed by Jacques Audiard.

About Chris Salce

I'm a pop culture fanatic based out of Southern California. My collection of comics and pop culture memorabilia would even impress The Collector. When I'm not busy writing about pop culture news, doing film reviews or interviewing celebs, my brother and I work on a comic book called Blood-RED (And yes, that was a cheap plug). I have a certificate of completion for a children’s storybook writing program.
