‘Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom’ TV Spots & Featurettes Tease New Directions; Fun on Set

Universal Pictures has released a bunch of new TV Spots & Featurettes for ‘Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom‘. J.A. Bayona steps into the director’s chair for the sequel to the massively successful ‘Jurassic World’. Although the film seems to be retreading some elements of the original ‘Jurassic Park‘ in terms of tone and more importantly the story of ‘The Lost World: Jurassic Park‘, the marketing for the film seems to embrace the third act gothic horror elements that Bayona was seemingly able to achieve with the film.

The tv spots do a good enough job of selling the tone of ‘Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdon‘, but it’s really the featurettes and the “Jurassic Journals” that really help to showcase the attention to detail in the sequel. In both recreating the animatronics used in those first two films, as well as the clear reverence that both the cast and crew have for those films, it’s clear that ‘Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom‘ is looking to do something much different from it’s predecessor. Also, the film features a sequence of Bryce Dallas Howard riding a sedated T-Rex like a mechanical bull.

In addition to Howard, the film stars Chris Pratt, Jeff Goldblum, James Cromwell, Ted Levine, Justice Smith, Geraldine Chaplin, Daniella Pineda, Toby Jones, Rafe Spall and Isabella Sermon, and BD Wong. The film is set for release on June 22, 2018, but in the meantime here are of the promotional materials released for the film thus far:

It’s been four years since theme park and luxury resort Jurassic World was destroyed by dinosaurs out of containment. Isla Nublar now sits abandoned by humans while the surviving dinosaurs fend for themselves in the jungles.

When the island’s dormant volcano begins roaring to life, Owen (Chris Pratt) and Claire (Bryce Dallas Howard) mount a campaign to rescue the remaining dinosaurs from this extinction-level event. Owen is driven to find Blue, his lead raptor who’s still missing in the wild, and Claire has grown a respect for these creatures she now makes her mission. Arriving on the unstable island as lava begins raining down, their expedition uncovers a conspiracy that could return our entire planet to a perilous order not seen since prehistoric times.

With all of the wonder, adventure and thrills synonymous with one of the most popular and successful series in cinema history, this all-new motion-picture event sees the return of favorite characters and dinosaurs—along with new breeds more awe-inspiring and terrifying than ever before. Welcome to Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom.
