List of TV Shows That Have Gotten the Axe, So Far

Earlier this week, the season for cutting and renewing TV series began. One of the cuts was Fox’s Brooklyn Nine-Nine which was a very unpopular decision among the viewers. You even had celebs like Sean Astin and Lin Manuel-Miranda who went to social media to get the show back on the air. And whatever it did seemed to work because as of this post, Brooklyn Nine-Nine has been renewed and picked up by NBC. There have been many shows that have gotten the axe this season and some are surprising as others aren’t. Below is a list of shows that have recently been canceled.

FOX

Lucifer – The DC based series starred Tom Ellis, Lauren German, Kevin Alejandro, D.B. Woodside, Scarlett Estevez, Lesley-Ann Brandt, Rachel Harris, Tricia Helfer and Aimee Garcia. There’s already a petition online to get the series renewed.

The Mick

The Exorcist

The Last Man on Earth – The Will Forte comedy has seen its last episode on Earth. See what I did there?

Brooklyn Nine-Nine – The NYPD comedy lead by Andy Samberg and Terry Crews is already headed to NBC, so save those tears.

ABC

Marvel’s Inhumans – Let’s face it, this series was canceled as soon as the first episode aired. Now lets get a proper film made and call it even.

Alex.Inc – Starring Zach Braff. I actually enjoyed this series but it wasn’t Scrubs.

Designated Survivor – Sadly, the recent addition of Michael J. Fox couldn’t save this one.

The Mayor

Kevin Probably Saves the World – Kevin probably didn’t save the world or the series.

Ten Days in the Valley – Funny enough, it was only 10 episodes long.

Deception

The Crossing

Quantico

NBC

The Brave

Shades of Blue

Great News – Umm…I’m just going to leave this one alone. Too easy.

Taken – There’s no Taken without Liam Neeson.

The Night Shift

Rise

Harry

The CW – They renewed just about everything except for two shows:

Life Sentence

Valor

Netflix – How do these shows even get canceled on a streaming service with billions of dollars?

The Get Down

The Get Down – Probably because Jayden Smith was in it.

Seven Seconds – Just about as long as it lasted.

Lady Dynamite

Disjointed – Good riddance. Why did Kathy Bates even take this job?

Girlboss

Chelsea

Gypsy

Haters Back Off! – I couldn’t stand this show.

Sense8 – They’re getting ready to have a two-hour movie be their final curtain call.

Everything Sucks! – Well apparently so does the show!

Amazon

Jean-Claude Van Johnson – I’m sure another reboot of one his films will come around.

I Love Dick – But the viewers apparently did not.

Mozart in the Jungle

One Mississippi

The Last Tycoon – Last seems to be a keyword here.

Good Girls Revolt

HULU

Chance

Difficult People

Shut Eye

The Path

SYFY

The Expanse – Another series a lot of viewers are upset about. Producers are currently looking for another home for it.

Blood Drive

Dark Matter

Incorporated

Which TV series are you sad to see go?

When I'm not busy writing about pop culture news, doing film reviews or interviewing celebs, my brother and I work on a comic book called Blood-RED (And yes, that was a cheap plug). I have a certificate of completion for a children’s storybook writing program.
