First Look at Tim Burton’s Live-Action ‘Dumbo’ Shown at CinemaCon

CinemaCon is exactly what it sounds like. A convention where members of the film industry and media get together to show off their upcoming features. This year films that debuted some footage and news were Sony’s Venom, Quentin Taratino’s Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, Sicario: Day of the Saldado and Disney’s live-action remake of The Lion King and the live-action Dumbo.

The upcoming live-action film is being directed by Tim Burton and is said to be a “very faithful homage” to the classic animated film with no “trippy Burton-esque” type imagery. Below is the first still of the adorable elephant that we have all known to love.

Disney’s new live-action feature film Dumbo introduces Holt Farrier (Farrell), a former circus star who finds his life turned upside down when he returns from the war. Circus owner Max Medici (DeVito) enlists Holt to care for a newborn elephant whose oversized ears make him a laughingstock in an already struggling circus. But when Holt’s children (Parker and Hobbins) discover that Dumbo can fly, persuasive entrepreneur V.A. Vandevere (Keaton) and an aerial artist named Colette Marchant (Green) swoop in to make the peculiar pachyderm a star.

Dumbo is set to fly into theaters March 29, 2019.

About Chris Salce

I'm a pop culture fanatic based out of Southern California. My collection of comics and pop culture memorabilia would even impress The Collector. When I'm not busy writing about pop culture news, doing film reviews or interviewing celebs, my brother and I work on a comic book called Blood-RED (And yes, that was a cheap plug). I have a certificate of completion for a children’s storybook writing program.
