Danny Bensi and Saunder Jurriaans Step in to Score AMC’s ‘Fear The Walking Dead’

The latest season of the hit series Fear The Walking Dead returns to AMC on April 15th, featuring a new score by co-composer Danny Bensi and Saunder Jurriaans. Together they are known for scoring impactful indie films like Enemy, LA 92, The Gift, Christine, Martha Marcy May Marlene and recently critically-acclaimed TV series such as Netflix’s Ozark and The OA.

Danny Bensi and Saunder Jurriaans are contemporary composers working together in New York and Los Angeles. In 2010, they were approached to score their first feature movie Two Gates Of Sleep directed byAlistair Banks Griffin – which premiered in Cannes (Director’s Fortnight).  The unique sounding orchestral score for the film quickly garnered the attention of several other film makers and directors.  From minimalist, modern classical music to sweeping epic orchestral scores, the composer duo soon after scored an array of award-winning edgy films and documentaries including Martha Marcy May MarleneThe One I Love and Denis Villeneuve’s Enemy –  which won best Musical Score at the Canadian Screen Awards. In 2015 they scored Joel Egerton’s acclaimed thriller The Gift.

Danny and Saunder have been a fixture at the Sundance Film Festival for 8 years. With films like Last Days in The Desert , The Wolfpack , Frank & Lola, Christine, The Fits and The Discovery. All of which went on to have successful international releases. This year their documentary Kailash won the Grand Jury Prize for best documentary.

Recent projects include Andre Øvredal’s horror film The Autopsy of Jane Doe, Ubisoft’s highly regarded video game For Honor, two television series – The OA and Jason Bateman’s OzarkNetflix documentary Amanda Knoxand Nat Geo’s LA 92 directed by Academy awards winners TJ Martin and Daniel Lindsay.

Upcoming films include Joel Edgerton’s Boy Erased (starring Lucas Hedges, Nicole Kidman, Russell Crowe), The Wolf Hour (starring Naomi Watts), and A Vigilante (starring Olivia Wilde). Bensi and Jurriaans are also currently working Season 4 of Fear the Walking Dead, Season 2 of Ozark, and selected episodes from Chef’s Table Season 3.
