The saga of Henry Cavill‘s glorious mustache has finally come to an end. In what at first seemed merely as an acting choice for his character in Mission: Impossible Fallout, Henry Cavill’s facial hair has been surrounded by a myriad of controversy amongst fanboys in the past year. As a result, Cavill’s mustache. It all started when news broke that Justice League would be conducting major reshoots in the wake of Joss Whedon stepping into the director’s chair for Zack Snyder on that film. The only problem with this was that Mission: Impossible Fallout had recently begun shooting, causing a scheduling conflict for the actor between Warner Bros. and Paramount. Now that Mission: Impossible Fallout has just recently wrapped filming after nearly a year of shooting, the actor has taken to his Instagram to share the big news: he’s finally shaved that now-legendary mustache.
Overall, Cavill seems to have a pretty good sense of humor about the whole thing. Although it would be ironic if Fallout eventually needed to resort to Cavill using a fake mustache for it’s potential re-shoots, I’m sure that the actor is more than happy to leave mustache-gate behind him. After all, it is a pretty silly “controversy”–using the word loosely–is even a thing to begin with.
