Final ‘Mission: Impossible Fallout’ Featurette Proves Tom Cruise Wants To Die

Paramount Pictures has unveiled a new featurette for ‘Mission: Impossible Fallout‘, further proving that star/producer Tom Cruise has a death wish. The film is a little over two weeks from hitting theaters, and what is presumably the final featurette showcasing the insane stunts in the film has been released. ‘Mission: Impossible‘ is a franchise that has always staked it’s name on showcasing tom cruise in dangerous situations, with the actor doing things for real. Although we’ve seen sneek peeks into several  ‘Mission: Impossible Fallout‘ stunts, it turns out that Cruise and director Christopher McQuarrie have decided to up the ante by including not one–but five–major stunts in the film.

The five major stunts in the film–“The Long Line”, “The Downward Spiral“, “The Motorcycle Chase”,”The Rooftop Jump” and  “The HALO Jump“–would be showstoppers in their own right, but it’s the “Long Line” stunt that is easily the most harrowing of them all. The stunt requires the actor to climb a rope that is attached to a helicopter, only to fall back down and eventually climb back up again. Much like the famed Burj Khalifa sequence from ‘Ghost Protocol‘ and the plane sequence from ‘Rogue Nation‘, this is a stunt that demands utter faith form Cruise in the people around him. This stunt in particular certainly should go down as one of the most harrowing practical stunts in recent memory.

In addition to Cruise, ‘Mission: Impossible Fallout‘ also features supporting players in Rebecca Ferguson, Alec Baldwin, Simon Pegg, Ving Rhames, Michelle Monaghan, Sean Harris, Henry Cavill, Angela Bassett, and Vanessa Kirby. The film is set to be released on July 27, 2018. In the meantime, check out the new featurette from the film below:

The best intentions often come back to haunt you. “MISSION: IMPOSSIBLE – FALLOUT” finds Ethan Hunt (Tom Cruise – “Top Gun,” “American Made,” “The Mummy”) and his IMF team (Alec Baldwin – “Saturday Night Live,” “The Boss Baby,” “Beetlejuice,” Simon Pegg – “Star Trek,” “Ready Player One,” Ving Rhames – “Pulp Fiction,” “Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2”) along with some familiar allies (Rebecca Ferguson – “The Greatest Showman,” ”The Girl on the Train,” Michelle Monaghan – “The Bourne Supremacy,” “The Heartbreak Kid”) in a race against time after a mission gone wrong. Henry Cavill (“Justice League,” “Man of Steel”), Angela Bassett (“Black Panther,” “American Horror Story”), and Vanessa Kirby (“Me Before You,” “The Crown”) also join the dynamic cast with filmmaker Christopher McQuarrie (“Jack Reacher”) returning to the helm.
