Jordan Peele and Keegan-Michael Key have signed on to re-team for director Henry Selick’s new-stop motion film titled Wendell and Wild. The duo will provide voices for the stop-motion animated feature playing two scheming demon brothers. Who exactly is this Henry Selick fella you ask?
Admit it, You thought Tim Burton directed The Nightmare Before Christmas, James and the Giant Peach, and Coraline. It was in fact Mr. Selick. Selick is known for his unique style, who you ever so foolishly thought was Tim Burton’s style. His (not Burton’s) new film will be landing on Netflix in the not-too-distant future. This will surely disappoint those who enjoy stop-motion theatrical releases, but who will no doubt relish in the fact the new film Wendell and Wild also features the re-teaming of Key & Peele.
The script will be written by Selick, Peele and Clay McLeod Chapman. Peele is a busy man. After winning his best screenplay Oscar, he has a Twilight Zone reboot in the works, horror show Lovecraft Country for HBO, and a follow-up to his directorial debut Get Out. Yet, still has time to re-team with his equally busy buddy Keegan-Michael Key. It will be fun to hear the two back together in the studio riffing.
Keegan-Michael Key has a bit of stop-motion voice-over experience playing American Ranger on the television show SuperMansion. Here’s a interview we did with him at the 2016 New York Comic Con:
