The visionary sci-fi writer/director is finally getting a chance to take the reigns of a major blockbuster franchise. Here are Blomkamp's thoughts from yesterday on the upcoming sequel:

The 87th Academy Awards recently took place at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles, California. Despite being a year filled with the lack of a clear winner for most categories, there were a lot of amazing films worth honoring. Even though the Academy snubbed a few films that I would have wanted to shine some recognition on (Nightcrawler, Enemy, Under the Skin), the nominations had little to fault aside from The LEGO Movie being absent aside from a song nomination.

Back in october, it was announced that Phil Lord and Chris Miller would indeed return to both produce and write The LEGO Movie 2, but no director was announced at that time. We now have our answer as to who will direct The LEGO Movie 2.

In case you haven't heard, a new short film titled 'POWER/RANGERS' was premiered today by Hitfix.com, and it is making waves throughout the internet fanboy community, accruing over 700,00 views in less than 24 hours. We are now hearing copyright owners demand the film be taken down.
