This year's Oscar ceremony is almost upon when it takes place this coming Sunday on February 26th. It may be fair to say that the nominees, especially for categories such as Best Picture, are hardly appetizing but it will be interesting to see what else they can conjure to make the show an event to remember alongside Jimmy Kimmel, who will be host. It will be the 89th show since it's birth in 1929.

Movie mistakes. Titanic, Lord of the Rings, Commando, The Godfather...they all have them. Motion pictures are developed by many of the best in the business, but that does not prevent a goof or two from getting through on camera and finding their way into the final product. Many are revealing. Some are amusing. But they all prove that nothing is perfect, no matter how much money is poured into a film project.

Most people know that sequels are commonly the death of what starts as a good movie concept. The film making industry's main focus is to make as much money as possible, but while the money rolls in quality ideas often get harder and harder to think of over time. Eventually, the end result is a last sequel devoid of any bona fide concept. In fact, many continuations often regurgitate what has come before, just in different "packaging.

The long awaited prehistoric shark movie, Meg will be hitting theaters on 2nd March in 2018. Action star Jason Statham is heading a cast of relatively unknown actors, leading to the belief that perhaps this film will be more action oriented than originally thought. Steve Alten's original shark novel led to a series of successful follow ups, while the production of the live action version was first confirmed to be produced by Disney until problems arose two decades ago.
