Next ‘Mission Impossible’ Film Delayed Until 2025!

It has been revealed that Tom Cruise’s next film in the “Mission Impossible” franchise has been delayed until 2025. The film which was previously titled, “Dead Reckoning, Part II” was slate for release sometime in 2024. A new title for the film is expected to be released shortly.

The upcoming film will be helmed by director Christopher McQuarrie and was set for a release date from Paramount and Skydance on June 28, 2024. The new planned release date will be May 23, 2025.

Cruise will once again reprise his role as IMF agent Ethan Hunt, with Hayley Atwell, Simon Pegg, Ving Rhames and Vanessa Kirby among those expected to return for the upcoming film. This film will mark the eighth “Mission Impossible” and is being shot with Imax cameras and will be carried in Imax theaters for a full three weeks.

The “Mission Impossible” film is not the only film on Paramount’s slate to have it’s release date moved around. “A Quiet Place: Day One” has moved to March 8, 2024, Ryan Reynolds upcoming film “If” has been moved to May 17, 2024 and a yet to be titled “Spongebob Squarepants” film has been pushed back to December 19, 2025.
