No matter which convention we are attending, be it San Diego Comic Con or most recently New York Comic Con, one of the first questions we ask ourselves is what will Funko have in-store for us? And believe us, they never disappoint!
This year’s theme for New York Comic Con was Heavy Metal Halloween and Funko delivered a ghoulishly good time with their booth set up! Both the Funko and Loungefly booths were decked out in full Halloween (and rock n’ roll) spirit. The entrance to the booth and queue lines featured large and looming blue cemetery gates adorned with skull toppers and were surrounded by hilariously tongue-in-cheek fake tombstones. They even had a 12-foot ghoul shredding on guitar alongside Funko Chief Officer of Fun, Mike Becker! It was quite a sight to see!

The Funko Heavy Metal Halloween Box of Fun featured one of four Heavy Metal Halloween mascot characters and Freddy Funko figures as various Halloween icons. It is a pretty epic box! Stay tuned for our unboxing videos coming soon! The Loungefly booth also featured some amazing exclusives as well as a spooky selection of bags, clothing and more! We are completely obsessed with both the Michael Myers Halloween bag and the Wednesday Addams bag!
Funko also teamed up with Ebay to create a really fun Gag or Gift game area where you had the chance to ring one of three doorbells and a prize was delivered through the mail slot that would either be the gift of a random Funko pop, a gag gift such as a rubber snake or a Grail which is an incredibly rare Funko Pop.
We had an amazing time visiting with Funko and Loungefly at NYCC and hopefully if you were there you had a chance to check it out, but don’t worry friends all hope is not lost if you were not able to attend NYCC this year.
