The Writers Strike Is Officially Over. What Is Next For Hollywood?

Hollywood creatives have been on strike for the last couple of months. The strike prevented many of our favorite television shows from going into production. These shows included Stranger Things, Cobra Kai, Family Guy, and many others. Many news outlets have reported that Hollywood’s writers and studios have a preliminary labor agreement.

The strike also affected highly anticipated movies from starting production, including Beetlejuice, Deadpool pt.3, and Gladiator 2. The strike is the largest interruption to American film and television production since the COVID-19 pandemic. With the agreement in place, Hollywood can get back to work soon.

Details of the agreement have not been released. WGA leadership called the three-year proposal “exceptional,”. The WGA and AMPTP are still drafting the final contract. The studios still have to make a deal with SAG, but both labor and management have moved closer to putting this painful five-month chapter behind them. Congrats to everyone who walked the picket lines for the past couple of months, Now get back to creating. Pretty please.
