WWE’s biggest show of the year is less than a week away. WrestleMania Thirty Nine will take place over two nights April 1 and 2, 2023, at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California. The two night event will be hosted by The Miz. This will be the first WrestleMania under the creative direction of HHH after Vince McMahon’s retirement last year.
At last years Mania Cody Rhodes made his return to WWE after being gone from the company for six years. While Rhodes was away he was one of the founding members of AEW a rival of WWE’S. Rhodes left AEW to return to WWE and after winning the 2023 Royal Rumble, Rhodes won the opportunity to fight reigning champion Roman Reigns.
Monday Night Raw’s Rhea Ripley won the 2023 Women’s Royal Rumble match to earn a women’s championship match of her choice at WrestleMania. Rhea picked Charlotte Flair the Smackdown Women’s Champion. This match marks the first women’s WrestleMania rematch to happen at a WrestleMania. The women faced each other at WrestleMania 36.
Omos will challenge Brock Lesner.
Asuka will challenge champion Bianca Belair for Raw Women’s Championship.
There will be a triple threat match between Sheamus, Drew Mcintyre, against reigning champion Gunther for the Intercontinental championship.
John Cena will challenge reigning champion Austin Theory for the United States Championship.
A six women tag team match will see Bayley, Dakota Kai, and Iyo Sky (Damage CTRL) challenge the reigning Women’s tag team champion’s Becky Lynch and Lita, and the returning Trish Stratus.
Social media influencer Logan Paul will take on Seth Rollins.
Edge will take on Finn Balor in a Hell In a Cell match. And Edge has said he wanted to face Bálor’s “Demon” persona.
In one of the hottest storylines in WWE history Kevin Owens will team with his best friend Sami Zayn to take on the bloodline’s Jey and Jimmy Uso for the Undisputed WWE Tag Team Titles. This match has been months in the making and will surely steal the show.
It was announced that at WrestleMania 39, there would be two WrestleMania Showcase matches, which would be fatal four way match, with one each for the men and women. The men’s match will feature Braun Stroman & Ricochet VS Street Profits VS Alpha Academy VS The Viking Raiders. The Women’s Match will feature Liv Morgan & Raquel Rodriguez VS Natalya & Shotzi VS Ronda Rousey & Shayna Baszler VS ????
Rey Mysterio will take on his son Dominik.
Celebrities outside of WWE will be involved in various roles pop star Becky G will perform “America the Beautiful” on Night 1. And country star Jimmie Allen will sing on Night 2. WrestleMania will be streaming on the Peacock Network.
