‘Halloween Kills’ Release Postponed To 2021, But Teaser Trailer Released!

Sadly, we are going to have to be patient and wait a bit longer for the highly-anticipated release of “Halloween Kills”, which has been postponed until 2021. However, the teaser trailer certainly gives us something to hold onto until then!

The film was initially scheduled for release on October 16, 2020, but has now been postponed for a year until October 15, 2021, and it will then be followed by “Halloween Ends” on October 22, 2022.

With the global pandemic, the director preferred to privilege the quality of viewing over a quick release. In an official statement, published on Twitter by John Carpenter, the two men do not hide their disappointment and justify their choice. Here’s what it basically says:

We are writing this with a broken heart. […] But if there is one thing for which a career in industry film has prepared us, it is the unexpected. […]. We discussed the best way to present ‘Halloween Kills’ to loyal fans around the world, as well as to the new audience we hope to invite to this experience. […]

After weighing our options, we chose to postpone the release of the thread for one year… We will have time to finish it with the quality that the fans deserve. And the preparation for ‘Halloween Ends’ has also started. It is an honor to work with these characters and to spend time at Haddonfield. We look forward to sharing our next chapters with you. “
