Should Netflix Create It’s Own Brand Of Heroes ?

Everyone loves a good crossover. It happens on TV and in Comic’s all the time. A character from one of your favorite TV shows appears on another show. Or your favorite comic book character shows up in a rival comic book that no one thought would happen. It has become the thing to do when promoting a new story arc or getting your fan base talking.

DC Comics may not do so well telling a story in a major theatrical release, but they have hit it big in telling their stories in other media.  The CW Network should be renamed DC Hour. The network has a slew of DC Comic properties that air nightly. These DC properties include Flash, Supergirl, Batwoman, and Black Lightning to name just a few. The CW and DC were smart enough to start doing crossover story arc’s dating back to 2014 with Flash V.S. Arrow. These crossover events happen to this very day to the delight of many fans.

With the launch of Disney Plus last November, Netflix slowly faded out the Marvel owned properties to Disney Plus. Netflix is one of the leading streaming services out there. Netflix is so popular that the term “Netflix and Chill”, has become a common term when talking about viewing their content. Netflix seems to have an endless supply of money to produce and market their original content. And all though that is a far- fetched assumption, just try viewing all the content they have, it can get overwhelming.

Netflix churns out shows like a conveyor belt produces Hot Pockets. They are a smart company that has a grasp on a market filled with live-streaming competition. But the loss of the Marvel properties which was an early attraction to many fans to subscribe to the service was a loss to the company.

Netflix does produce its own original content like the hugely successful Stranger Things.  Creating shows like Stranger Things could lead to other shows to do a crossover. Like CW, Marvel, DC, and other network shows do you think Netflix should create content that could eventually lead to a crossover?
