New ‘Ocean’s 8’ Trailer, Character Posters & One-Sheet Highlight Top-Notch Cast

Warner Bros. has released a new trailer along with a batch of posters for the upcoming reboot/sequel, ‘Ocean’s 8‘. We’ve already seen two different trailers for the film, but now that we’re quickly approaching the film’s release in a couple of weeks, it seems that the marketing has begun to pick up. The new trailer focuses more on the character interactions this time around and less son the story. To be quite honest, the biggest selling point of this film is the amazing female cast that it boasts. Overall, this trailer does a great job of selling what these movies are all about– a bunch of movie stars getting together to make a movie and having a great time doing it.

The new one-sheet is very similar to the original teaser poster, but it offers a nice amount of symmetry and a decent enough look at the cast. The character posters however, are much more revealing. Not only do these character posters offer great looks at each member of the ensemble cast in ‘Ocean’s 8‘, but they also give us a small hints as to how each of the characters might factor into the overall team dynamic. In other words, these character posters do everything that they need to.

I find myself slightly worried about the film mostly because it seems to lack the super distinctive style that Steven Soderbergh brought to the original trilogy of films. The style that soderbergh employed in the making of the film is much of the reason why those films are so fun to begin with. Gary Ross, the filmmaker behind The Hunger Games and Pleasantville, co-wrote the screenplay with Olivia Milch. The film stars Sandra Bullock, Cate Blanchett, Mindy Kaling, Awkwafina, Sarah Paulson, Rihanna, Helena Bonham Carter, James Corden, and Richard Armitage. ‘Ocean’s 8’ is set for release on June 8, 2018, so expect to see much more from the film very soon.

In the meantime, Here are all of the new posters below, along with the official synopsis and new trailer for the film:

Five years, eight months, 12 days…and counting. That’s how long Debbie Ocean (Sandra Bullock) has been devising the biggest heist of her life. She knows what it’s going to take—a team of the best in their field, starting with her partner-in-crime Lou Miller (Cate Blanchett). Together, they recruit a crew of specialists: jeweler Amita (Kaling); street con Constance (Awkwafina); expert fence Tammy (Paulson); hacker Nine Ball (Rihanna); and fashion designer Rose (Bonham Carter). The target is a cool $150 million dollars in diamonds—diamonds that will be around the neck of world-famous actress Daphne Kluger (Hathaway), who will be centerstage at the event of the year, the Met Gala. The plan is rock solid, but everything will need to be flawless if the team is going to get in and get away with the ice. All in plain sight.
