Marvel’s latest small independent film that nobody has heard of Avengers: Infinity War has done the impossible. Infinity War has set the domestic weekend box office record with a staggering $250 million. The previous record was held by another small Disney property Star War: The Force Awakens with $247.9 million. That was a record I thought would take at least ten years to break, but here we are – less than three years later – and we have a new champion.
Along with setting domestic box office records, Avengers raked in an additional $443.1 million overseas, for a worldwide total of $725 million. Infinity War has already earned more than seven MCU movies. The movie has only been out for four days.
A Quiet Place finished second with an estimated $10.6 million. The John Krasinski thriller has now earned an estimated $236 million worldwide.
I Feel Pretty brought in $8.1 million, for a domestic total of $29 million. Rampage finished fourth with an estimated $7 million. The Rock’s newest flick has earned $77 million domestically, and $335 million worldwide. Rounding out the top five is fellow Marvel flick Black Panther with an estimated $4.3 million. Black Panther has now earned $688 in the states and $1.3 billion worldwide.
