Steven Spielberg Shooting Fifth ‘Indiana Jones’ Film in 2019

The long-talked about fifth Indiana Jones film is coming in July 2020 and director Steven Spielberg has given some details on when he plans shooting the film and where the shooting will take place.

Spielberg was in London on Sunday night where he was receiving the Legend of Our Lifetime award at the Rakuten TV Empire Awards. During his acceptance speech, Spielberg announced that he will be back in the U.K. in April 2019 to make the fifth installment in the Indy franchise:
“It’s always worth the trip when I get to work with this deep bench of talent coming out of the UK. The actors, and the crew, the chippies, the sparks, the drivers — everybody who has helped me make my movies here, and will continue helping me make my movies here when I come back in April 2019 to make the fifth Indiana Jones movie right here.”
As of now, Harrison Ford is set to reprise his role as the snake-hating adventure-finding archeologist (or anthropologist depending on how you look at it). Indiana Jones 5 will be written by ‘The Kingdom of the Crystal Skull’ writer David Koepp, with Kathleen Kennedy producing. Sorry, but Shia LeBeouf will not be returning to reprise his role as Mutt Williams.

This will be the first Indiana film under the Disney banner. Paramount and Disney came to an agreement back in 2013 that gave control for all future films over to Disney. It will also be the first in the franchise that will not involve George Lucas. According to Box Office Mojo, the Indy franchise has grossed a total of $939,177,554 in revenue.
