Reader beware, you’re in for a scare! Sony Pictures dares to bring more scares with Goosebumps 2: Haunted Halloween. Slappy the Dummy is back with an all-new story, one that no one was meant to read. Sony has released the first trailer for the film which you can watch below.

Although Slappy has returned, Jack Black has unfortunately not. Black both voiced Slappy the Dummy and played Goosebumps creator R.L. Stine in the previous film. That being said, it looks as though the sequel will bring back some storybook favorites as well as a new well-rounded cast which includes Wendi McLendon-Covey (Brides Maids), Madison Iseman (Jumanji), Jeremy Ray Taylor (It), Caleel Harris (Castle Rock), Chris Parnell (Saturday Night Live), Ken Jeong (The Hangover).

The children’s horror books sold over 400 million copies making author R.L. Stine a best-seller and put Stine on the Forbes list. The first Goosebumps film grossed $150.2 million worldwide with a budget of $58 million, so it’s easy to see why Sony decided to give it another go.

The film is directed by Ari Sandel (When We First Met) and written by Rob Leiber (Peter Rabbit). Goosebumps 2: Haunted Halloween hits theaters October 12, 2018.

About Chris Salce

I'm a pop culture fanatic based out of Southern California. My collection of comics and pop culture memorabilia would even impress The Collector. When I'm not busy writing about pop culture news, doing film reviews or interviewing celebs, my brother and I work on a comic book called Blood-RED (And yes, that was a cheap plug). I have a certificate of completion for a children’s storybook writing program.
