First ‘Star Trek: Discovery’ Season 2 Trailer Encounters The Enterprise (SDCC 2018)

CBS All-Access has released a brand-new trailer for the highly-anticipated second season of ‘Star Trek: Discovery‘, showcasing the enterprise in it’s full glory. Although this writer has yet to watch the first season, those who watched season 1 know that it ended with a tease of the USS Enterprise. This trailer furthers that idea, revealing new characters and some that we’re familiar with.

The most notable of these is our first good look at Anson Mount (Hell on Wheels), who will fills the shoes of the classic Enterprise Captain in Christopher Pike. While none of the marketing really struck me from season 1, this trailer for the new season looks like lots of fun. If I have one big gripe, it’s that the show seems to be aligning itself too closely with a look that–quite honestly–is ripping off what J.J. Abrams established with his films. Either way you look at it, this new season looks to be much more expensive than the first.

‘Star Trek: Discovery’ is set to premiere on CBS All-Access some time in Spring of 2019 and stars Sonequa Martin-Green, Doug Jones, Shazad Latif, Anthony Rapp, and Mary Wiseman. In the meantime, here’s the trailer along with the official synopsis below:
