The box office is always dominated by horror movies and critical darlings come fall, and one of the most interesting aspects of this trailer is the fact that it could honestly be going for either. With a star studded cast led by academy award winners/nominees like Jennifer Lawrence, Javier Bardem, Ed Harris and Michelle Phiefer, you clearly can’t just write it off as your run of the mill horror movie. Not only that but now knowing that ‘mother!‘ will hit theaters only a week after the highly anticipated reboot of Stephen King’s ‘IT definetly shows confidence in the film. It’s not really abnormal to see horror movies come out back-to-back during the fall, but it is safe to say that (the studio) isn’t worried about the film or potentially suffering from any over saturation.
Mother!‘ Has the potential of not only being an awesome Halloween treat, but it could also be something we are still talking about come award season. As a fan of the genre and Aronoksy, September 15th can’t come fast enough.
