New ‘Jurassic World’ Trailer Highlights Polished Special Effects

Universal has unleashed their brand new trailer for the upcoming Jurassic World, and the picture is starting to take shape.  The fourth film in the Jurassic Park franchise is beginning to look like a return to form.  Sure, nothing will ever top the impact of the original, as the movie landscape has changed entirely since 1993.  Jurassic World looks like it blends many of the things that made the original the classic we know today, while adding new elements to up the mayhem.  Chris Pratt stars as Owen Grady, a velociraptor trainer who must stop the genetically modified dinosaur that begins killing for sport.

Here’s the brand new look at Jurassic World:

I like how the visuals are beginning to look more polished, after the “work in progress” trailer we saw a couple months ago.  Jurassic World looks like it will be a fun movie, but I’m not without reservations.  First, we’ve seen familiar plots in previous installments, and I hope they’re not simply re-hashing ideas with more extreme dinosaurs.  Secondly, I hope Universal didn’t just release the “best” parts of the movie in this trailer.  With the recent trend of trailers over-reviling plots, audiences are beginning to be conditioned to accept this.  Hopefully the movie has more surprises up their sleeve.

Regardless, Jurassic World is shaping up to look like a fun, goofy, summer blockbuster.  Jurassic World is the first film in the franchise since 2001’s JPIII, so fans are eagerly anticipating getting to know some new dinosaurs.  John Hammond, your dream is almost a reality.

Jurassic World stars Chris Pratt, Bryce Dallas Howard, Vincent D’onofrio, Irrfan Khan, BD Wong, Ty Simpkins, Jake Johnson, and Judy Greer and opens in theaters June 12, 2015.
