There seems to be a string of science fiction films scheduled to hit theaters in 2015, and Self/less is another effort to look forward to.  Ben Kingsley stars as an extremely wealthy man dying from cancer who is given the opportunity to transfer his consciousness into a younger healthier Ryan Reynolds body.

Self/less is directed by Tarsem Singh (The Cell, Immortals), so if nothing else, the film should be visually interesting.  The film also stars Matthew Goode, Michelle Dockery, Natalie Martinez, Derek Luke, and Victor Garber.

Here’s the first look at the sci-fi thriller:

The official synopsis:

In this provocative psychological science fiction thriller, an extremely wealthy man (Academy Award® Winner Ben Kingsley) dying from cancer undergoes a radical medical procedure that transfers his consciousness into the body of a healthy young man (Ryan Reynolds). But all is not as it seems when he starts to uncover the mystery of the body’s origin and the organization that will kill to protect its cause.

Self/less will arrive in theaters July 31, 2015.
