The trailer for Evil Dead Rise was released earlier today, and it look’s like the film is going to be a bloody good time. The film has been in production for the last couple years, and will be released in theaters later this year. Sam Raimi the writer and director of the original Evil Dead helped write the script as well as produce.
Lee Cronin will direct the next installment in the Evil Dead franchise. Bruce Campbell who played Ash in first two films as well as Army of Darkness will also help produce. Campbell helped put his character Ash on pop cultures map for the last thirty some years. Campbell retired a few years back from the Ash character, but he is still heavily involved in the Evil Dead series.
The latest film in the Evil Dead series ‘Evil Dead Rise’ will follow a twisted tale of two estranged sisters whose reunion is cut short by the rise of flesh-possessing demons, thrusting them into a primal battle for survival as they face the most nightmarish version of family imaginable.
The film will be released to theaters this April.
