News broke a few days ago that a sequel to the Todd Phillips smash hit Joker is in the works. And this time the joker is bringing a friend. And that friend is Harley Quin. Phillips Joker, won an Oscar, and broke box office records in 2019 when it grossed around 1 billion dollars.
Joaquin Phoenix will reprise his role and there is talks that he will be joined by Lady Gaga who will portray his sidekick/psychiatrist Harley Quin. Details about Lady Gaga’s character are being kept under wraps. Harley Quin has been portrayed prominently in the DC Universe by Margot Robbie. So having Gaga take the helm of Quin should be very interesting for fans.
Todd Phillips is in the middle of writing the script with Joker co-writer Scott Silver for some time and has finally shown it to the studio. And there are rumors that the movie may be a musical which would be very interesting given Gaga’s involvement if she does sign onto play Harley. And we all know Phoenix can do a little singing too with his portrayal of Johnny Cash in Walk the Line. Joker 2 should be very interesting.
