Kevin Smith’s Birthday Is This Weekend

This weekend New Jersey native Kevin Smith turns 50. That’s right the clerk from Red Bank is turning a decade older. We here at Age of the Nerd would love to send much love and birthday wishes to Mr. Smith on his birthday weekend.

It was the early 90’s and after seeing a Richard Linklater film, Smith was inspired to make a film of his own. That film turned out to be a cult hit known as Clerks which was released in 1994. Through the decades Smith has persevered through the ups and downs of Hollywood. Making a name for himself not just in Hollywood, but somehow found the pulse of pop culture and been at the forefront of creating content in his own vision.

Although Smith is turning fifty, he has not stopped being creative releasing many podcasts, a future Masters of the Universe cartoon for Netflix. He is also working on a Green Hornet animated series with Wildbrain. Smith is also in the midst of doing rewrites on his sequel to his 1995 film Mallrats titled, Twilight of the Mallrats.

Happy Birthday Mr. Kevin Smith you have been a true inspiration to many people including us here at the site. We hope you have a great weekend filled with smoke and laughs. Here’s to another fifty. Cheers!
