Disney has given us a slew of live-action remakes that have been remarkable such as “The Jungle Book”, “Beauty and the Beast”, “Dumbo” and “The Lion King” to name a few and now we can look forward to the upcoming remake of “Mulan”.
The new trailer for the upcoming film show’s our favorite Disney warrior “Mulan” who is more than determined to fulfill her destiny and win over our hearts. The film was shot in both China and New Zealand and the scenery looks absolutely amazing.
Mulan is played by Liu Yifei, aka Crystal Liu, a star of the big screen in China. Just like in the 1998 cartoon version of the story, her character is engaged to be married but decides to join the army instead, against the will of her family and the orders of the emperor, played by Jet Li. Mulan disguises herself as a man to defend her people against the Hun invasion.
The film is being directed by Niki Caro, who was hired by Disney following the success of Whale Rider and The Zookeeper’s Wife. “Mulan” is set for release on March 27, 2020!
