It is still absolutely heartbreaking to think about the tragic death of actor Luke Perry and fans of The CW series “Riverdale” were left wondering just how the series would tackle Perry’s passing as he portrayed lead character Archie Andrew’s father, Fred Andrews, in the series.
After viewing the tear-jerking tribute reel during the “Riverdale” Hall H panel at San Diego Comic-Con we knew the series would be handling Perry’s death the best they could as we certainly know this was not an easy loss for the cast and crew.
The CW has revealed the first images from the Luke Perry tribute from the upcoming fourth season of the series. It has been revealed that this will be the first episode of the new season which will pay tribute to both Perry and his character. The episode will also feature Perry’s former “Beverly Hills 90210” co-star Shannen Doherty, who will be making a guest appearance in “Riverdale” this season.
One image shows a grieving Archie (KJ Apa) in the arms of his weeping mother, Mary Andrews (Molly Ringwald). The other two photos show Archie’s friends coming together to pay tribute to his father, who had always tried to protect and understand his son.
