UPDATE: Harry Styles Turns Down Role of Prince Eric in ‘The Little Mermaid’ Live-Action Remake

As we previously reported, Harry Styles took on the role of Prince Eric in Disney’s Live-Action remake of The Little Mermaid. Well it has now appeared that he actually turned down the role in the movie as reported exclusively by The Wrap.

TheWrap however reported that “individuals with knowledge of the project” exclusively told them that he respectfully decline the opportunity to be Prince Eric in the movie but is a fan of the project.

Earlier today, both AMC Theatres and Regal Cinemas inaccurately tweeted that Styles had been casted within the role. Both theater chains later deleted the tweets but not quick enough that media outlets weren’t able to screenshot them and make a news story.

More information to come as the story develops.
