Paramount has just revealed the news that another Spice Girls feature film is in the works, which might feature several unheard tracks. The Spice Girls have been around for quite some time now, twenty-five years to be exact, and they are still going strong. The group has plenty planned for the rest of 2019 and now it seems that they will keep going well into 2020 as well. The Spice Girls are currently on a global tour and have also revealed that you can rent out the tour bus used in their previous film Spice World! A definite must for super fans!
Little is known about the plot for the upcoming film, but we do know that it will be produced and directed by a primarily female-led team and that while despite not taking part in the current Spice Girls global tour, Victoria Beckham, a.k.a. Posh Spice will be taking part in the feature film. It is also rumored that the plot will find the girls turned into some type of superheroines and it may be animated, but that is all that is floating around at this time.
Mireille Soria, a producer at Paramount, has revealed (via THR) that the Spice Girls themselves are behind the feature film project: “They had an idea that we’ve been developing“, she explained, adding that they are “extremely involved” in the film, which is currently targeting a 2020 release date.
