Post ‘Avengers: Endgame’, Who’s Still With Marvel And Who’s Gone For Good

After the incredibly emotional events that transpired in “Avengers: Endgame” many fans were left wondering which characters could possibly be making another appearance in the MCU (Marvel Cinematic Universe) and those that are definitely gone for good.

Many have dug into the details in the Marvel star’s contracts to see which actors still have active contracts with the company and who we will definitely be seeing in films in the future. “Avengers: Endgame” was a huge financial success for the Marvel company, so we know for sure they are definitely going to be keeping a good number of these franchises alive despite the fact that “Avengers” has come to an end!

According to the Hollywood Reporter, Scarlett Johansson (alias Black Widow, whose fate you’ll have discovered in Avengers: Endgame) is still bound by a contract, for example. She’ll be back for a standalone film about Black Widow in 2020, for a sum between 15 and 20 million dollars.

Chris Hemsworth (Thor) signed a contract with Marvel for five films in 2010, which he renegotiated in 2017 for Infinity War and Endgame, for an amount between 15 and 20 million dollars per film. That means he’s likely to participate in the next phase of the MCU. Chris Evans received a similar salary, but it’s unlikely that he’ll be back.

The new phase of the MCU will include series about standalone characters, which will be screened on the new Disney+ streaming service. Elizabeth Olsen (Scarlet Witch), Anthony Mackie (Falcon), Sebastian Stan (Winter Soldier) and Jeremy Renner (Hawkeye/Ronin) have all negotiated agreements for six to eight episodes.

The contracts don’t affect future appearances in upcoming feature films in the saga which have already been planned. The next few films will mostly focus on Chadwick Boseman (Black Panther) and Benedict Cumberbatch (Doctor Strange), who’ll each be getting a film based on their characters.
