Age of The Nerd
The first look at the new live action/CGI Sonic The Hedgehog has arrived. The official trailer can be streamed below. Paramount Pictures is the studio bringing Sonic to the big screen.
Directed by Jeff Fowler (Where The Wild Things Are), the movie stars Jim Carrey as the evil Dr. Robotnik and James Marsden as Tom Wachowski, a local San Francisco police officer who is tasked with tracking down a mysterious and incredibly fast blue ball of energy that is racing around town. Sonic himself is voiced by Ben Schwartz (Parks and Recreation).
The new film is based on the classic SEGA video game franchise. The first Sonic The Hedgehog game was released in 1991. As of 2018, Sonic games have shifted over 800 million copies (physical and online/mobile), according to SEGA Sammy Holdings.
Sonic The Hedgehog speeds into theaters on November 8.
